Wheat Ridge Dream Dinners is Returning for Round Two in the Fight Against Hunger

The Wheat Ridge Dream Dinners team is hosting its second Fight Against Hunger event on Saturday, July 29. Dream Dinners franchise owners Carol and Jim Eddy are organizing the event.

The event will be hosted at the Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and organizers hope to package 50,000 meals. Approximately 16,000 meals will stay local and go to the Action Center’s Prosperity Project, which helps individuals in need transition into housing and break the cycle of generational poverty. The remaining two thirds of the meals will go to Haiti. Any additional money raised will go to the Arvada Community Food Bank, providing hunger relief services to local people in need.

Hurricane Matthew pummeled Haiti last year and some communities are struggling to rebuild. A few volunteers hours can do so much to address food insecurity locally and abroad, and help these individuals move toward sustainability.

Generous donations from key sponsors including SpenDifference, and Money Concepts are helping to make this event possible. For more information, or to make a donation, visit https://livingthedreamfoundation.com/wheatridge-co-meal-packing-event.
