Dream Dinners and Friends & Family Community Connection: Serving Our Communities and the World in 2017

At Dream Dinners our mission has always been to grow great kids, and giving back to the communities we serve is part of that equation. We started our non-profit arm the Living the Dream Foundation 12 years ago as another way to fulfill that mission. Through the foundation, we are working to connect heart to service through food packing events across the nation in communities our stores currently serve. As an organization we hope to educate the next generation to actively impact communities locally and globally.

Our goal is to develop generations of leaders that live daily to love their neighbors as themselves. We’ve been able to work toward this by providing millions of meals to children in need distributed through Friends & Families Community Connection domestically and globally.

Since the inception of the Living the Dream Foundation in 2005, we have expanded to serve not just our local communities, but also those in need around the world.

Thanks to the efforts of our dedicated Dream Dinners franchisees across the nation, Dream Dinners has been able to raise funds for cancer victims and cures, support those impacted by natural disasters, and continue the fight against hunger. Through our partnership with the Friends & Family Community Connection we’ve hosted meal packaging events, organized fundraisers and food drives, and traveled to destinations around the world in need of relief. FFCC has donated more than 13 million meals to a wide variety of causes in the U.S. and abroad.

Feeding a Need

Through our partnership with the Friends & Family Community Connection (FFCC), we’ve been able to co-host several Fight Against Hunger meal packaging events throughout the US to combat food insecurity here and abroad. At our events, volunteers of all ages help to assemble food packages that have been scientifically designed to reverse the effects of malnutrition and starvation. These Fight Against Hunger events bring communities together in support of a singular mission: to “feed a need” in the community by giving back to those who need it most.

In 2016 alone we were able to:

  • Organize meal packaging events in six U.S. cities, and several communities in Tanzania and Haiti
  • Pack approximately 440,000 meals
  • Deliver more than 135,000 meals to food banks in the U.S.
  • Deliver more than 300,000 meals abroad
  • Raise more than $100,000
  • Engage 3,500 volunteers

But we’re just getting started. We have a long-term vision to continue fighting starvation in our communities across the U.S. and around the world.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be organizing even more events in 2017. Stay tuned; we’ll be announcing details and event dates soon!
